Welcome to Bangkok

After a 26 hour journey Tim and I finally made it to Bangkok! We spent the first day lounging by the pool and enjoying the warm weather at a hotel outside of Bangkok. Once we were feeling more acclimated, we headed into the heart of Bangkok. We found our hotel outside of Bang lamphu (the backpackers district) and began to explore the city. After an overwhelming walk through the infamous Kho San Road we finally found a good spot for lunch, Tim got some amazing yellow curry and I got a plate of chicken basil noodles, and two huge bottles of soda, all for around 6 bucks. Since then we have been further embedding ourselves into this crazy city finding cheaper and cheaper yet tastier and tastier meals, and taking lots of naps.  The food over here is amazing, the best deal so far is a big (thank god for Tim's sake) steaming plate of chicken Pad Thai for 30 baht, or roughly 90 cents!!!  We have tons of pictures and stories so far, but are off to find another new score for lunch out in the wild city!  We will keep you all updated and will be back on the airwaves soon,
K&T

  1. Thanks Kate – Great to hear from you two. With all that tasty food, are you getting some special recipes for the Master Chef and his Sous Chefs?
